Featuring a vast network in the state of Texas built over the course of three decades practicing public law, Mike utilizes his public-sector experience to advise HBS clients in the private sector, focusing on their interactions with governmental entities. His focus centers on resolving government-related disputes, including condemnations, regulatory compliance and administrative matters. Some of his previous work includes obtaining previously-denied permits for clients where other attorneys failed to do so, and effectively assisting companies with property tax disputes.
Previously, the elected County Attorney for Harris County, Texas (the third largest county in the U.S.), Mike brings firsthand knowledge of how the government thinks and acts in all areas of government law. He has been asked to share his insights as a feature speaker at multiple Texas-based legal events, in addition to having counseled public officials and candidates for elected office regarding difficult legal disputes.
Mike is a 1980 graduate of the South Texas College of Law and a 1975 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.
