Jay Reichard advocates on behalf of clients in the Legislative and Executive Branches for Husch Blackwell Strategies. Jay has lobbied in the Missouri Legislature for over twenty five legislative sessions and has experience working on state appropriation funding in budget areas including: Agriculture, Corrections, Economic Development, Education, Higher Education, Lottery, Mental Health, Office of Administration, Public Safety, Revenue and Social Services.

Previously, Jay played a key role in founding Statehouse Strategies, LLC. The firm represented over forty clients in Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota. The Missouri Times recognized Jay as one of the top people in Missouri public policy arena you need to know.

Prior to his work with Statehouse Strategies, Jay was a government relations consultant at the law firm of Schreimann, Rackers, Francka & Blunt LLC for more than a decade where he assisted with the creation and management of the firm’s public policy and lobbying practice. He also previously worked for seven years with former State Budget Director James R. Moody in building Moody’s lobbying practice.

In addition to his lobbying work, Jay successfully led the effort to elect political newcomer Mike Kehoe to the Missouri State Senate. The campaign provided Mr. Kehoe with an impressive six-point margin of victory in a crowded four-way August 2010 Primary Election. Mr. Kehoe went on to win the seat in the General Election. Jay managed a budget of over $500,000, hired and managed a large staff and numerous consultants. Jay also managed Senator Kehoe’s successful 2014 re-election campaign.

A Missouri native, Jay received a Bachelor of Science in Business/Management from the University of Missouri – Columbia.
