HB Strategies Expands Nebraska Practice Group
LINCOLN, NEB. – Husch Blackwell Strategies is pleased to announce the addition of Dusty Vaughan to the firm’s Nebraska practice group. Vaughan formerly served as the State Director for U.S. Senator Deb Fischer. His experience helping Nebraskans and Nebraska job creators interact with government have provided Vaughan a valuable skillset that will be beneficial to Husch Blackwell Strategies’ clients in Nebraska and Washington, D.C.
“Husch Blackwell Strategies is committed to hiring people who can bring tremendous value to our clients,” said Andy Blunt, Chairman of the Board and Chief Operating Officer for Husch Blackwell Strategies. “Dusty Vaughan is exactly the kind of person we want to join our team as we seek to grow in Nebraska and around the country.”
“Leading U.S. Senator Deb Fischer’s State Office for the past six years has been a phenomenal experience. The decision to leave Senator Fischer wasn’t easy, but I am ready for a new challenge and excited to join Husch Blackwell Strategies,” Vaughan said. “Husch Blackwell Strategies is known for serving their clients with integrity and have shown time and again their dedication to client needs from start to finish. That is exactly the type of firm that aligns with my personal approach to government affairs.”
As the State Director for U.S. Senator Deb Fischer, Dusty led her state operations, which included five offices across the state. Vaughan was involved in formulating Senator Fischer's legislative policies with her executive leadership team and acted as the conduit between Washington, D.C. and Nebraskans. Prior to Senator Fischer’s election to the U.S. Senate, Dusty served as the Legal Counsel of the Nebraska Legislature’s Transportation & Telecommunications Committee. While serving in that position, he drafted and played an integral part in helping Chairman Fischer pass the Build Nebraska Act, which is known as landmark legislation that changed how Nebraska funded its highways and infrastructure.
Dusty is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he received both his bachelor’s degree and juris doctorate.
